This course is in Italian.
This course is centered around how to taste and evaluate tea, and therefore recognize what is a “good” tea. The objective with this course is to learn how to know and recognize what the characteristics of a high quality tea are versus a tea with those of a lower quality. This course can be useful for those who are passionate and drink tea every day, but it can also be useful for those who work professionally within the tea industry. This course is held by Elisa Moratello, Tea Taster and Founder of Teatips.
This course is perfect for you if:
- tea is your passion, and you would like to become even more knowledgeable in recognizing the qualities of a good tea and its origins
- tea is a part of your professional work and you would like to become more aware and knowledgeable of tea in general
- you would like to know how to recognize a high quality tea
- you would like to learn how to recognize the defects of a lesser quality tea
- you would like to learn how to recognize if the value given to a tea is right/is justifiable
- you would like to learn how to recognize the aromas and flavours of tea, and be able to describe them
- you would like to know which teas are most suitable for different periods of the day (ex. A good morning tea versus a tea you may drink in the evening)
Kit: once the registration has been confirmed and paid for, you will have a kit sent to yo with:
- 4 samples of loose-leaf teas
- 1 tasting set with a tasting cup
- brochure with detailed information
- brochure with a tasting sheet
- QR code with link to access the course and participate online on Google Meet
COURSE PROGRAM
Theory Introduction:
- how to recognize a good, quality tea
- tea harvesting and the seasons: how do they influence the quality and thereby our choice of tea
- how to recognize potential diffects in tea
- how to read and use the wheel of aromas
Pratical Lesson:
- brewing and tasting of 4 different types of teas
- practical sensory analysis: describe tea using the 5 senses
- guided tasting: how to recognize the aromas of tea before and after brewing

Time and mode: the course takes place in a single online session, from 18:30pm to 21pm
