From September to December, the calendar expands with three new online courses dedicated to the world of tea, designed for enthusiasts, curious learners and food & beverage professionals who want to deepen their knowledge of tea origins, tasting techniques, sensory analysis and pairings.
All courses are held in Italian.
All three sessions will be led by Elisa Moratello, Tea Taster and founder of TeaTips, who will guide participants through practical experiences and guided tastings. No previous experience is required: each course is designed to provide the tools needed to approach tea with greater awareness and learn how to recognise its distinctive characteristics, aromas and nuances.
The first appointment is scheduled for Thursday, 24 September, with “Tea Focus: Teas from Nepal”, a journey into a still little-known tea origin capable of producing teas of remarkable quality. The workshop will explore the history of Nepalese tea and its connection with neighbouring Darjeeling, the main growing regions, seasonal harvests and processing techniques, combining theory with a guided tasting of four Nepalese teas.
On Thursday, 5 November, the programme continues with “Tea Sensory Skills – Tea and Chocolate Tasting”, a sensory workshop exploring the pairing of loose-leaf teas and chocolates from different parts of the world. Through three guided pairings, participants will learn the fundamental principles of pairing tea with food and discover how aromas and flavours can complement or contrast with one another, creating new sensory experiences.
The series concludes on Thursday, 3 December, with the “Tea Sensory Skills” Workshop, dedicated to tea tasting and sensory analysis. This practical course is designed to train the senses of smell and taste, helping participants distinguish aromas from flavours, recognise the positive qualities and defects of a tea, use the aroma wheel and develop useful criteria for assessing tea quality. A guided tasting of four different types of tea will provide the opportunity to immediately put these new skills into practice.
All courses take place online and include the delivery of the products and materials required for the tastings directly to participants’ homes, allowing everyone to share the experience with the instructor even from a distance.
